The Master of Law Study Program, Faculty of Law Udayana University organized an International Seminar on Law and Economic Development, took place at International Office, Agrokompleks Building, Udayana University-Sudirman Campus on 27th September 2019. During the opening ceremony, the Committee, represented by I Made Budi Arsika, SH, LLM, explained that this event was organized by virtue of giving comparative insights to the students. Head of Master of Law Study Program, Dr. Putu Gede Arya Sumerta Yasa, SH, MHum, officially opened the seminar, on behalf of the Dean of Faculty of Law. During his speech, he revealed that the topic of this seminar was chosen in order to discuss the dynamics of global economic activities that have an impact on all sectors of the nations’ life, including the legal system and legal culture. It is expected that speakers would kindly share their knowledge and experiences on how economic development should be anticipated by relevant stakeholders from a legal and other perspective.
The seminar invited Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Wyasa Putra, SH, MHum to deliver a keynote speech concerning “Shifting the Function of Law in the Disruptive World” Two speakers presented their ideas during the panel session, moderated by Dr. Made Suksma Prijandhini Devi Salain, SH, MH, LLM. The first speaker is Yasna Singh, BSc, MSc, M.Phil, Ph.D, a Danish scholar and former staff of the United Nations, who presented “The United Nations Development Programs and its impacts to Countries” while the second speaker is Henrik Lawrence Marx, a student of the Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany who talked about.“European Single Market.” Before the question and answer session, all topics presented were thoroughly scrutinized by Bagus Hermanto, SH, who acted as a discussant.
